Kode uses Tickster throughout the entire visitor experience
by Jonas Lyckander
From museum tickets and memberships to books, museum merchandise and café sales – Kode has brought several parts of the visitor experience together on the Tickster platform.
When Kode Art Museums and Composer Homes set out to find a new ticketing and membership system, they were looking for more than a traditional ticketing solution.
With four art museums in central Bergen and three composer homes outside the city centre, Kode needed a flexible platform capable of managing different ticket types, memberships and on-site sales across multiple venues.
The goal was to bring more of its operations together, reduce the number of separate systems and gain better insights into sales, visitor numbers and revenue across the organisation. Following a competitive tender process, Kode selected Tickster as its new provider.
One solution for different visitor experiences
Since May 2026, Kode has been using Tickster to sell and manage day tickets, combination tickets, memberships, annual passes and bus tickets, among other products.
The solution is tailored to a museum organisation where needs vary across different locations. Visitors can purchase tickets online or on arrival, while Kode can manage ticket products, memberships and sales through a single platform.
This creates a more seamless experience for both visitors and staff – whether it’s an art exhibition in central Bergen, a concert at Troldhaugen or a visit to several of Kode’s museums and composer homes.
From admission tickets to museum shops
The solution also includes Tickster Blink, which handles on-site sales beyond ticketing.
In its museum shops, Kode sells art books, exhibition catalogues and museum merchandise. Tickster Blink is also used for café sales.
This allows Kode to use the same platform across multiple parts of the visitor journey – from purchasing tickets and memberships to shopping in the museum store or enjoying something at the café.
A platform built to evolve
For an organisation managing multiple museums, exhibitions, events, memberships, shops and cafés, having a solution that can adapt to different needs is essential.
The partnership with Kode demonstrates how Tickster can support complex cultural organisations with much more than ticketing. By bringing more sales activities together on one platform, Kode gains a clearer overview of operations across its venues – along with a flexible foundation that can continue to evolve as the organisation’s needs change.
