Introducing Resale – safe ticket resale directly in MyTickster
by Frida Ekelund
We are now launching Resale – an integrated secondary ticketing solution within the Tickster platform, where your visitors can safely resell their tickets directly from their MyTickster account, while you as an organizer retain full control. Resale is available for organizers in the Swedish and Danish markets.
Safe ticket resale
With Resale, you and your visitors avoid unreliable external marketplaces. Instead, everything happens directly in MyTickster:
- The seller creates a resale and gets a unique sales link
- The link is shared by the seller
- The buyer completes the purchase via Tickster’s webshop
- The old tickets are invalidated
- New, valid tickets are automatically created
Note: Resale tickets are not publicly listed on any marketplace or in the regular ticket webshop. All sales happen through the unique link shared by the seller.
The result? 100% control over which tickets are valid – all the way to the entrance.
Full control for you as an organizer
Resale is not just a feature for visitors – it’s a tool for you. You can, for example:
- Set a maximum resale price*
- Control fees and revenue distribution
- Decide which tickets can be resold
- Enable Resale as a default for your events
This means you can allow secondary sales – without losing control over pricing or the customer experience.
*Applies only in Sweden.
Set the rules – your way
You can easily configure Resale in Manager under Settings → Resale settings. There, you can for example:
- Set limits on price markups
- Choose how fees are distributed
- Enable Resale as default for new items
Want everything to be resellable right away? You can also bulk enable Resale for all existing items and upcoming events – instead of activating it one by one.
What can be resold?
Resale works for most standard tickets and vouchers – as long as they are enabled for resale. This means that in most cases, your visitors can easily resell their tickets in a safe way.
Works well for
- Standard tickets for a single event
- Vouchers
- Items where Resale is enabled as a sales channel
Good to know
To ensure a safe and reliable experience, some product types are not supported. Resale therefore normally does not apply to:
- Restaurant-related tickets
- Personal tickets
- Season passes, season tickets, or packages
There may also be certain limitations depending on settings, such as pricing or sales period.
New revenue opportunities
Unlike external secondary marketplaces, everything happens within your ecosystem. This means:
- You can earn a share of resale fees
- You keep the customer relationship
- You get full insight into what is being resold
In short: tickets that change hands can still create value for you.
A safer experience for visitors
For the buyer, Resale means:
- No fake tickets or risk of being scammed
- A smooth purchase experience
For the seller:
- Easy handling in MyTickster
- Secure payment
- No contact with unknown buyers
Enabled for everyone – but controlled by you
Resale is now being rolled out to all organizers. But you still have full control:
- You choose which items (tickets/vouchers) can be resold
- All new items are automatically activated for resale; this can be changed with a setting
- Resale is enabled as a sales channel per item
- You can easily turn it on or off whenever you want
This allows you to test on a small scale – or go all in right away.
