New campaign tool in Tickster Manager
by Jonas Lyckander
In week 39, the campaign tool in Tickster Manager is getting a completely new UI, with a more intuitive, smooth and efficient workflow. The campaign overview has also received an upgrade, with easier search, filtering and management of your campaigns.
Some things have moved, some terms have been renamed, and the workflow looks different.
We’re convinced this is going to be a great improvement. The goal is to make working with campaigns clearer, more streamlined and easier to understand – although, of course, it may feel a little unfamiliar at first.
So we took the opportunity to ask Micke Hammar, Project Manager at Tickster, what he thinks is most important to know ahead of the change – and what questions he expects may come up when you start working with the new tool.
What happens to my active campaigns?
Micke: Nothing disappears. Your existing campaigns will still be there after the update.
What’s mainly changing is how you view and work with them in Manager. Some parts that were previously separate, such as Actions, will now appear as Campaign Behaviors directly within the campaign.
So you don’t need to recreate your active campaigns just because the new tool is being launched.
Where did Actions go?
Micke: They’re still there! What was previously called Actions can now be found directly within the campaign, where they are instead called Campaign Behaviors.
So it’s mainly the way you work that is changing. The idea is that you won’t have to jump between different parts of Manager when creating a campaign.
What exactly is a Campaign Behavior?
Micke: Simply put, it describes what the campaign should do.
For example, it can give a discount, open a Presale, show a specific selection of tickets or limit how many tickets a customer can purchase.
Can a campaign still do several things at the same time?
Micke: Absolutely.
A campaign can, for example, show a specific ticket selection, offer a discount and limit how many tickets a customer can purchase.
The difference is that these different elements are now more closely grouped together within the campaign.
Will it feel different?
Micke: Yes, a little at first.
If you’ve worked extensively with campaigns and know exactly where everything is today, you’ll obviously notice that some things have moved.
But most of what you’re familiar with is still there. Hopefully, it will quickly start to feel more logical as more parts of the campaign are now connected and managed in the same place.
I can’t find the campaign I’m looking for – has it disappeared?
Micke: Most likely not. Start by checking which filters you have active on the campaign page.
The new campaign overview gives you more options for filtering and sorting campaigns, making it easier to find the right one when you have many campaigns.
Try changing or clearing the filters, and search for the campaign name if you can’t find it right away.
Can I see which campaigns apply to a specific event?
Micke: Yes! That’s one of the improvements in the new campaign overview.
You can filter by a specific event to get a clearer picture of which campaigns affect that particular event.
This can be especially useful when you want to check which offers and Presale campaigns are actually connected to an event.
Can I, for example, find all campaigns that offer a discount or all Presale campaigns?
Micke: Yes. You can filter based on what the campaign does – in other words, which Campaign Behavior it contains.
If you want to find campaigns with discounts, Presale or other types of behaviors, you can use the filtering options in the campaign overview instead of opening the campaigns one by one.
Any final words, Micke?
Micke: Above all – give it some time. We know that changes to a tool you work with frequently can feel unfamiliar at first.
The goal of the new campaign tool is to bring more elements together in one place and make it easier to create, find and understand your campaigns.
